Overview of Squad program content
The Northern Star Chess Squad program was launched this term. The purpose of the Squad program is to provide an extension program for school chess players looking to take their chess interest beyond school chess club.
We hope to provide a stepping stone for these students onto the wider chess arena of rated tournaments at chess clubs and various junior tournaments such as the Victorian Juniors and beyond
Kerry Stead the chess coach is providing an overview of material covered after each session.
During each session, students play a game and notate their moves. Kerry then analyses each game for the students.
Term 1, 2013 (4 sessions):
- Session 1 - Sunday February 17th
- Session 2 - Sunday February 24th
- Session 3 - Sunday March 3rd
- Session 4 - Sunday March 17th
Term 2, 2013 (6 sessions):
- Session 1 - Sunday May 5th
- Session 2 - Sunday May 12th
- Session 3 - Sunday May 19th
- Session 4 - Sunday May 26th
- Session 5 - Sunday June 16th
- Session 6 - Sunday June 23rd
