Primary and Secondary students from schools in Victoria are invited to play in a special NSC School Zonal day at this amazing venue.

(2020 - 2022 Not held due to COVID)
2023 - Cambridge Primary School

Secondary School Champion:

2019 - Scotch College
(2020 - 2022 Not held due to COVID)
2023 - Ballarat Clarendon College

  • Players can register through their school as part of a school team or register directly as an individual

  • Separate tournaments for Primary division and Secondary division
  • Names of winning School from each Division will go on the perpetual Kryal Castle Chess Shield
  • Standard NSC zonal prizes
  • Top 30% of Secondary Open division students qualify for the NSC Secondary Open State Final
  • Top 30% of Primary Open division students qualify for the NSC Primary Open semi-finals
  • Additionally, top 30% of girls from each Open division qualify for the respective Girls State Finals
  • Special prizes for winning schools in each division
  • Entry fee is $25 per student - includes venue entry on the day, tournamnet entry and free giveaways and discount deal
