NSC conduct a variety of school chess events -
Your school is invited to participate in an event of your choice
- Inter-School tournaments involving other schools. During terms 1-3, such an event would usually be nominated as a Chess Victoria zonal qualifier.
- In-house tournaments such as School championships or House championships within the host school.
- Primary and Secondary School Teams Championships Annual events for the Primary and Secondary perpetual cups in each division
There is no charge for a school to host a chess tournament. Requirement is to provide a suitable venue, suitable furniture and appropriate supervision/support on the day of the tournament. Host school can nominate maximum attendance. All Northern Star tournaments have a consistent format layout and prize structure, to enrich the experience for each and every student who attends.
