2021 NSC Victorian Schools State Finals (online)

The 2021 suite of NSC State level events will take place online after all.

  • During August, September and October this year, many zonal events were conducted online successfully. NSC online events provide a safe and nurturing environment for students to compete online.
  • Schools and parents of student who qualified for any of our state events from zonals, whether at a face-to-face or online event, are being notified with instructions on how to register
  • NSC state final events acknowledge winners in both school team achievements and individual achievements. Prizes are awarded to multiple winners in each

Term 4 Junior Chess Club Programs (outside school)

The NSC Junior Chess Club programs provide a pathway for Primary and Secondary school chess players to transition beyond school chess. The programs focus on chess improvement at the students' level, in a fun and engaging environment. Experienced coaches work with students in groups based on skill levels.

Sunday afternoon JCC

  • This program is conducted at St Bridget's Primary School in Balwyn North. A 1.5 hour session includes chess lessons, tactics work and game play.
  • During Covid lockdown, a 1 hour session is delivered online via Zoom

Wednesday afternoon Online JCC (fully online)

  • This program is conducted on Zoom (Head coach is FM Kris Chan)
  • Students are grouped in Zoom for an optimal learning experience. The coach delivers a lesson and the students then play online games using Lichess
